Daly Mansion
This mansion was built in 1890 by an Irish immigrant named Marcus Daly, one of Montana's colorful "copper kings." With 42 rooms, 24 bedrooms, 15 baths and 5 Italian marble fireplaces, the huge mansion presides over 50 planted acres in Montana's scenic Bitterroot Valley. Ravalli County Museum

Selway-Bitterroot Widerness
This 1.3 million-acre wilderness straddles the Bitterroot Range in Montana's western border with Idaho. Several canyons take hikers and horseback riders to high mountain lakes. Abundant wildlife and no motorized vehicles are allowed. Call 406-363-7161 for more information.
